they tried to be more like Ableton and failed (in my opinion). They changed the UI and I can't stand how it looks now. but it's been a while since I've using it. are you using ASIO drivers from Cubase? IIRC, Cubase has a feature that loads and unloads the driver when the application has or loses focus. Thanks for the great content, this will have me working. It's probably related to a routing issue and the blocking-nature of single-client drivers.Īlso. Should it not be g-f-b-d in order to be a dim7 Now it sounds more like a third inversion of an Eb9. This new version of Guitar Pro takes into account our users’ many suggestions with a more complete and professional graphical rendering of musical scores, an improved MIDI and MusicXML import. this isn't happening randomly even though it might seem that way. A redesigned interface, with a better rendering of your scores, audio improvements, and new tools discover the many new features of Guitar Pro 7. That uses the regular MME or DirectSound driver which is multi-client.ĮDIT: I just saw your EDIT ) And perhaps I'm not understanding exactly what's happening and when it happens. As long as any software is using that ASIO driver, no other software can access it.Ĭheck the "Device" setting on the Audio/MIDI tab in your Guitar Pro Preferences and see if it's set to "ASIO". That means only a single piece of software can have control of the device at any given time. For my particular interface (Universal Audio Volt 2), it's single-client. It all comes down to whether the ASIO driver is single or multi-client. This is entirely to be expected, and if you are using the ASIO driver from Guitar Pro it should be happening 100% of the time. When I attach headphones to my computer and let the sound run through them instead of the Line, I can hear stuff normally.ĭoes anyone know what this could be? Ty in advance.ĮDIT: When I switch in the GP7 options the device from Default to ASIO, GP7 plays sound again, but the rest of Windows is still silenced. Cubase - which I use to record stuff with the Steinberg USB - doesn't trigger this behaviour. Sometimes I have to exit some programs and it's back, sometimes I have to restart GP7, and rarely nothing helps at all and I need a system restart. The sound usually comes back later, but completely randomly. In the Windows volume control, the Line output is still there, but clicking on the regulator bar (which should produce a sound and a green visual indicator) has no effect. This can occur both during using it and/or after exiting it. However, since I switched, every time I am using the program, there is a like 50% chance that it will make my computer entirely mute. I am using a Steinberg USB interface with a connected loudspeaker as a Line sound device on Windows 10 and never had any problems with Guitar Pro 5.
